Possible closure of Wacker Chemie plant in Tennessee weighs on stock

The Wacker Chemie share fell about 3.4% after reports said the company was considering closing its plant in Charleston, Tennessee, which has around 600 employees. WACKER CHEMIE said there are no plans to close its polysilicon plant in Charleston (Tennessee). Reports had portrayed the plant as at risk because of U.S. trade policy and lost customers; the company says it is holding constructive talks with the U.S. government, as the recent proclamation in its current form does not effectively encourage the use of polysilicon produced in the United States.
