NIBC publishes 2026 half-year report following takeover by ABN AMRO
NIBC published its 2026 half-year report and reports solid results for the first half. The report was aligned with the previously communicated financial figures of 12 August. ABN AMRO raises forecast after Q2 profit jump, shares climb sharply
ABN AMRO reported a net profit of €781m for Q2, well above consensus. Fee and commission surplus rose 25% to €617m, and net interest income in the commercial business increased 11% to €1.70bn. The bank raised its full-year net interest income forecast to €6.8bn, lowered its cost forecast to €5.5bn, announced an interim dividend of €0.68 and reported a CET1 ratio of 15.9%. Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe to be integrated into ABN Amro on 15 June
The joint-stock company Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe will be legally dissolved on 15 June and integrated into the Dutch ABN Amro under the German brand Bethmann Bank. CEO Michael Bentlage, who will not be part of the new leadership team, is stepping down and says HAL has grown strongly since the financial crisis through countercyclical investments and acquisitions. Bentlage praises the role of investor Fosun in strengthening capital but cites the rising minimum size required for banks as the reason for the merger.
