  • Alior Bank: solid operating H1 2026, profit hit by ECJ one‑off

Alior Bank reported a disclosed net profit of PLN 367m for H1 2026 and an adjusted profit of PLN 433m after an ECJ‑related one‑off (gross adjustment PLN 153m, net PLN 96m). Revenues fell to PLN 1.37bn (-10% yoy), but management stresses that operating business would have remained stable without the ECJ adjustment. Adjusted net interest margin was 5.11%; mortgage and leasing businesses grew strongly (nearly +50% and +30% respectively), and costs rose by only 2%. For H2 the bank expects at least flat fee income, aims to keep NIM around 5% and to cut the NPL ratio below 5% by end‑2026, but sees risks from regulatory effects and a higher corporate tax in 2027. » More on de.investing.com

  • S&P raises Alior Bank's rating to BBB- due to improved risk profile

S&P Global Ratings has raised Alior Bank’s long‑ and short‑term issuer ratings from BB+/B to BBB-/A‑3 with a stable outlook. The upgrade reflects diversification of the loan portfolio, a reduction in non‑performing loans (NPL ratio down to 5.7% at end‑2025) and stricter lending standards. S&P expects risk costs of 60–80 basis points, a RAC ratio of around 14.1% at end‑2025, and annual net profits of about PLN 2 billion in 2026–27. The rating also factors in a level of support from main shareholder PZU and potential strategic links to Pekao. » More on de.investing.com

The agency cites progress in realigning the business model, reducing legacy problem assets and improved asset quality, along with comparatively solid profitability metrics.
