Athene announces the placement of $1 billion of senior notes with a coupon of 6.150% and maturity in 2036. The closing of the issuance is expected on Friday and is subject to customary closing conditions. Net proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, including capital contributions to insurance subsidiaries to support organic growth. Athene appoints Larik Hall as head of Japan business
Athene has appointed Larik Hall as senior vice president and head of its Japan business. Hall brings more than 30 years of experience in the retirement industry, including over a decade in Japan and leadership roles at Goldman Sachs Ayco, AIG, MetLife Alico and MassMutual. He will drive Athene’s growth strategy for retirement solutions in Japan; since 2020 Athene has reinsured more than $20 billion there across eight transactions. Apollo Commercial Real Estate sells around $9 billion loan portfolio to Athene
Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance has reached a definitive agreement to sell its commercial real estate loan portfolio of around $9 billion to Athene. The portfolio is valued at 99.7% of the loan commitments; two loans totaling $146 million are excluded. After repayment of financings, ARI expects about $1.4 billion in net liquidity and common shareholders' equity of roughly $1.7 billion (about $12.05 per share). The transaction, expected to close in Q2 2026, is subject to approval by a majority of shareholders; ARI will retain net equity interests of $466 million and still plans a quarterly dividend of $0.25 for Q1 2026. » More on de.investing.com
