AVITA Medical: study shows 70% cost savings with wound matrix PermeaDerm
A multicenter, randomized study of 40 patients at 11 U.S. burn centers found that the biosynthetic wound matrix PermeaDerm reduced treatment costs by 70% compared with allografts while producing comparable clinical outcomes. Average cost per 1% treated body surface area was $148.70 versus $497.10 for allografts; the primary endpoint was statistically significant (p<0.001). PermeaDerm reduced preparation effort by 95.7%, is ready to use immediately, and showed no product-related adverse events; both groups achieved ≥95% wound healing within eight weeks. » More on de.investing.com
Avita Medical expands exclusive distribution for PermeaDerm and adjusts revenue sharing
Avita Medical secured, for a fee of $500,000, a right of first refusal and first negotiation to extend its exclusive distribution territory for PermeaDerm to parts of or the entire EU, the United Kingdom and Australia. The amended agreement with Stedical Scientific raises Avita’s revenue share on sheet products to 67% (with additional increases if gross margins exceed 50%) and on gloves to 80% (with uplifts if gross margins exceed 35%). Avita must achieve at least $1.0 million in revenue shares in 2026 and meet a minimum growth rate of 20% per year through 2030; at the same time Stedical is allowed to serve certain U.S. markets, with Avita applying a 10% markup on manufacturing costs for U.S. sales. Avita also reported Q2 revenue of $21.7 million (+18% y/y) and an adjusted loss of $0.25 per share, after which the stock rose sharply. » More on de.investing.com
