  • Bank of Ireland confirms full-year guidance after strong loan growth in Q1 2026

  • Bank of Ireland considers increasing provisions for UK auto loans to around £350 million

    Bank of Ireland is reviewing a rise in its provisions for compensation in its UK motor finance business from £143 million to about £350 million following an FCA consultation paper on commissions. The bank says the increase reflects a higher likelihood of eligible claims, the proposed compensation methodology and customer engagement. Implementation would reduce the CET1 ratio by around 35 basis points from 16.0% as of 30 June 2025.
