Bper Banca rises after Kepler upgrade and consolidation speculation
Bper Banca shares climbed about 4.3% today after Kepler Cheuvreux upgraded the stock from "Hold" to "Buy" and raised its 12-month price target to €13.80. Kepler sees significant value-creation potential from possible takeovers in the Italian banking sector, including €0.50 per share from a business unit of Monte dei Paschi di Siena and an expected EPS increase of around 10% by 2028. An update of the business plan on August 6 is cited as a further catalyst. The move comes against the backdrop of a broader M&A reshuffle around Intesa’s takeover offer for MPS and plans to merge the acquired bank with Bper, which could create a new institution as the second-largest bank in Italy. » More on de.investing.com
