Dine Brands bets on dual-brand expansion with Applebee’s and IHOP as growth drivers
At the Barclays conference, Dine Brands said the Applebee’s/IHOP dual-brand format will be a central growth driver; 45 sites are open and about 80 dual-brand restaurants are expected by the end of 2026. IHOP again exceeds benchmarks for comparable sales and guest counts, while Applebee’s benefits from a modernization program and reports sales increases of 5–15% at renovated restaurants. Management emphasizes value-priced menus to drive traffic but sees pressure from higher beef costs and notes a leverage ratio of five times EBITDA. Dine Brands identifies roughly 900 potential long-term dual-brand sites and plans to grow primarily through EBITDA improvement rather than aggressive debt reduction. » More on de.investing.com

Adjusted free cash flow plunged to $3.7 million year‑to‑date amid higher CapEx of $23.2 million for remodels and dual‑brand conversions. Adjusted EBITDA fell 3.6% to $54.2 million and adjusted free cash flow plunged sharply, while management left its full-year guidance unchanged and said it expects results at the lower end of the range. The company cited revenue gains from buybacks and acquisitions and operational improvements from its dual-brand strategy, but flagged risks from commodity inflation, higher G&A costs and tight liquidity. The stock rose about 3% premarket, suggesting the market viewed the revenue beat and progress in the turnaround program positively. » More on de.investing.com
