EnQuest shareholders approve takeover of Malaysia assets
At the general meeting, EnQuest approved the planned acquisition of interests in four offshore production sharing contracts in Malaysia from PETRONAS CARIGALI with 99.97% of the votes. The maximum total consideration is $833 million. EnQuest has published a combined prospectus and shareholder circular for the proposed purchase of interests in four production‑sharing contracts in Malaysia from PETRONAS CARIGALI for a maximum price of $833 million. The FCA has approved the transaction; a general meeting to vote on the deal is scheduled for 11 August 2026. Under the UK Listing Rules the acquisitions are treated as a reverse takeover; EnQuest is not issuing any new ordinary shares and is seeking a temporary suspension of trading pending relisting, expected in early January 2027. EnQuest reports $172.5m payments to governments for 2025
EnQuest disclosed total payments to governments of $172.5 million for the year ended 31 December 2025. Of that, $106.7 million related to the United Kingdom ($102.8 million in taxes, $3.9 million in royalties), $52.4 million to Malaysia ($39.9 million in production shares, $7.2 million in taxes), $13.2 million to Vietnam and $0.24 million to Indonesia.
