EyePoint: DURAVYU misses primary endpoint in Phase‑3 study for wet AMD
The Phase‑3 LUGANO study of DURAVYU did not meet the primary endpoint of change in best‑corrected visual acuity versus aflibercept in the full dataset. After excluding an asymmetric cohort of nine patients, an ad‑hoc analysis showed nominal non‑inferiority (p=0.0096). Key secondary endpoints were met: DURAVYU reduced treatment burden by 42% (on average two fewer injections through week 56) and many patients remained without additional treatment for weeks; safety data showed no relevant differences versus the control group. EyePoint expects LUCIA topline data in Q4 2026 and, depending on those results, aims for an FDA filing in H1 2027. » More on de.investing.com
Guggenheim names Eyepoint Pharmaceuticals top pick in biotech sector
Guggenheim has designated Eyepoint Pharmaceuticals as its top pick in the biotech sector and set a $68 price target based on a sum-of-the-parts net present value analysis. The valuation factors in Duravyu for retinal diseases, the expected cash position at end-2025 and near-term clinical catalysts. Top-line data from the Phase III LUGANO study are still expected in August 2026, and the LUCIA study is slated for Q4 2026; Guggenheim expects the non-inferiority primary endpoint to be met and views the commercial launch as promising. » More on de.investing.com
Eyepoint expects phase III wet AMD readouts mid-year, DME enrollment on track
Eyepoint said phase III top-line data for its wet AMD program (LUGANO then LUCIA) are expected beginning mid-year, pursuing a non-inferiority pathway versus on-label 2 mg aflibercept with a focus on six-month redosing and reduced treatment burden. The company reported two positive DSMC reviews, low ~5% discontinuation, and highlighted vorolanib’s multi-mechanism profile (VEGF, PDGF, JAK1/IL‑6) as a potential differentiator. Its phase III DME program (COMO and CAPRI) is rapidly enrolling with over one-third of patients enrolled and full enrollment targeted in Q3 2026; DME top-line data are expected in H2 2027. Eyepoint ended Q1 with $223 million in cash and investments, posted a net loss of $85 million, and expects current cash to fund operations into Q4 2027. » More on finance.yahoo.com
