  • Trian demands cost cuts, divestments and buybacks at Solventum after spin-off

Trian Fund Management has disclosed just under a 5% stake in Solventum and, in an open letter, demanded three value-boosting measures: reduce overhead to 3M-levels, sell non-core divisions including Health Information Systems, and prioritize share buybacks. Trian criticizes that the market capitalization of around $12 billion is far below the $25 billion expected at the spin-off and sees about $13 billion of shareholder value destroyed. The investor also condemns high executive compensation since the spin-off without corresponding returns for shareholders and says it will communicate with other large shareholders and may adjust its position. » More on de.investing.com
