GE Aerospace operates a specially converted 747-400 as a flying laboratory to test and certify large commercial engines, most recently the record-setting GE9X. The aircraft is outfitted with extensive instrumentation and collects about 1,000 parameters in real time across varied weather and flight conditions, supporting data analysis back in Evendale, Ohio.
