Hallador Energy misses profit forecast for Q2 2026 despite revenue rise
Hallador Energy reported an adjusted loss of $0.32 per share for Q2 2026 versus an expected loss of $0.12 per share, while revenue of $101.5 million topped analysts’ estimate of $90.33 million. The quarter was weighed down by a planned 60-day outage at the Merom power plant, unplanned downtime and higher purchased power costs, resulting in a net loss of $15.2 million and adjusted EBITDA of -$2.9 million. Backlog rose significantly to $1.6 billion, and the Turtle Creek gas project is now estimated to have total costs below $800 million with commercial operation expected in the second half of 2028. The stock rose in regular trading but fell after hours as investors balanced weaker profitability against stronger revenue and project progress. » More on de.investing.com
