Hyatt opens first location in Guyana and plans rebranding to Hyatt Regency
Hyatt is taking the Atlantic Suites Hotel in Georgetown on as an affiliated property and plans a $50 million renovation project that will rename the hotel Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana by 2028. A new adjoining tower and refurbishments will increase the room count from 80 to 240 and add additional meeting, dining and bar offerings. The hotel will be enrolled in the World of Hyatt loyalty program; additionally, a 136-room Hyatt Place Georgetown is expected to be added to the portfolio in 2026. » More on de.investing.com

Macquarie reports US RevPAR growth of 8.7% for June 2026 (average daily rate +6.8%, occupancy +1.7%), driven by the football World Cup and holiday travel. Luxury hotels led with around +16% RevPAR, the upscale segment delivered about +9%, and lower-priced segments were weaker.
