Japan grants Insmed approval for lung drug Brensocatib
Japan’s Ministry of Health has approved BRINSUPRI (Brensocatib 25 mg) from Insmed for the treatment of non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) in patients aged 12 and older. The once-daily oral therapy is the first treatment approved in Japan for NCFB and complements existing approvals in the US and Europe. The decision is based on the phase-3 ASPEN study, which showed a reduction in pulmonary exacerbations and positive secondary endpoints over 52 weeks; common adverse events included COVID-19, nasopharyngitis, cough and headache. » More on de.investing.com

Baron Health Care Fund remains bullish on Insmed despite Brinsupri sales miss
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Baron Health Care Fund said it remains positive on Insmed, viewing its three lead pulmonology assets as able to generate more than $8 billion in peak sales and Brinsupri alone as a $5 billion-plus opportunity. The fund noted shares fell after first-quarter Brinsupri sales missed aggressive expectations and early signs of higher treatment discontinuations, and selling was amplified by Insmed's exit from the Nasdaq-100. Baron highlighted long-term upside from Brinsupri and from TPIP as a once-daily inhaled therapy with potential for better efficacy, and affirmed confidence in the company's fundamentals despite near-term headwinds. » More on finance.yahoo.com
