LandSec pushes leisure and wellness experiences to revive shopping centres
LandSec is converting retail space into leisure and wellness attractions at centres such as Bluewater to offset falling footfall and vacant department store sites. Landlords and operators are introducing activities from zip wires and wild swimming to padel, climbing and tech-enabled gaming to drive longer visits and new revenue models tied to turnover. The shift is driven by changing consumer demand for experiences, though not every centre has the space or layout to accommodate such transformations. » More on theguardian.com
