FDA approves Lantheus' TAUKLARIFY for tau-PET in Alzheimer

The U.S. FDA has approved TAUKLARIFY (florquinitau F 18) from Lantheus for positron emission tomography of the brain in adults to help assess Alzheimer-typical tau neurofibrillary tangles. The decision was based on two blinded studies with more than 500 subjects that showed high concordance in image readings; safety was evaluated in 1,734 subjects. Curium to buy Lantheus for up to $8bn in all-cash deal

CapVest-backed Curium will acquire Nasdaq-listed Lantheus for $102.50 per share in cash, plus non-transferable CVRs that could add up to $12.00 per share, bringing potential consideration to $114.50. The offer represents a roughly 38% premium to Lantheus' 60-day VWAP and has unanimous board approval. The combined group would operate across oncology, neurology and cardiology in more than 70 countries, integrating Curium's theranostics and manufacturing with Lantheus' US radiodiagnostics business.
