Luminar Technologies completes Chapter 11 liquidation — shares become worthless
A US bankruptcy court confirmed Luminar Technologies’ amended liquidation plan, under which all outstanding equity interests, including common shares, are being cancelled without compensation and are therefore worthless. After selling Luminar Semiconductor to Quantum Computing and the LiDAR business to MicroVision, Luminar halted operations and is transferring remaining assets and liabilities to a liquidation trust. Luminar bankrupt — assets sold to Microvision for $33 million
Lidar maker Luminar is insolvent and is being liquidated. A court approved the award to Microvision, which acquired Luminar’s intellectual property rights, inventory of the Halo and Iris models, selected contracts and parts of the workforce for $33 million. Creditors will therefore receive only a fraction of their claims; the subsidiary Luminar Semiconductors was sold separately to Quantum Computing for $110 million.
