Martin Marietta Materials issues $5.5bn of bonds to finance Lhoist takeover
Martin Marietta Materials has issued $5.5bn of unsecured senior notes in five tranches (coupons 4.85%–6.375%, maturities 2029–2056) to finance the acquisition of Lhoist North America. The net proceeds, together with a $1.5bn senior unsecured credit facility, will be used to pay the purchase price; closing is expected in Q3 2026. The notes are not guaranteed by subsidiaries and rank pari passu with existing senior unsecured indebtedness, but are subordinated to secured debt.
