Methanex indefinitely idles Titan methanol plant in Trinidad due to gas shortage
Methanex announces the indefinite idling of the Titan methanol plant in Trinidad after it was unable to secure a new natural gas contract and the current agreement expires in Q3 2026. The plant, with an annual capacity of 860,000 tonnes, will be mothballed to allow a restart if conditions improve; the Atlas interest also remains idled for an indefinite period. The company expects no material cash outlays from the action and reports that Titan currently does not contribute to adjusted EBITDA or free cash flow. Methanex plans to release updated production and financial guidance with its quarterly results on 28 July 2026. » More on de.investing.com
