Microchip licenses memBrain SAGE AI IP to AnalogAI for edge processors
Microchip has licensed its neuromorphic hardware IP memBrain SAGE to AnalogAI, which will use the technology via its subsidiary Silicon Storage Technology for edge AI processors. AnalogAI aims to develop energy‑efficient processors (≤1 watt) for robotics, drones and vehicles that can perform training and inference simultaneously. The IP is based on SuperFlash memory and is already available for 40‑nm and 28‑nm process nodes; Microchip plans a port to 22‑nm. » More on de.investing.com
Microchip Technology shareholders approve expansion of equity incentive plan and confirm board of directors
Microchip Technology shareholders approved the amendment and restatement of the equity incentive plan, increasing the number of authorized common shares available for issuance by 12,000,000. At the annual meeting, Ellen L. Barker, Rick Cassidy, Matthew W. Chapman, Mitch Little, Victor Peng, Karen M. Rapp and Steve Sanghi were confirmed to the board of directors; the voting results were recorded. Shareholders also ratified Ernst & Young LLP as the independent registered public accounting firm and voted, in a non‑binding advisory vote, in favor of executive compensation. » More on de.investing.com
Microchip brings radiation-tolerant chip-scale atomic clock to market for satellites
Microchip introduces the Space CSAC-SA65, a energy-efficient chip-scale atomic clock that tolerates radiation doses of at least 30 kRad and operating temperatures from −40 °C to +80 °C. The device consumes under 120 mW, requires less than 17 cm³ of volume, and provides 1‑PPS inputs and outputs for satellite synchronization without continuous reliance on GNSS signals. The commercially available, radiation-tolerant component targets LEO missions and timing, frequency and PNT applications, and aims to deliver shorter lead times and lower costs than conventional space oscillators. » More on de.investing.com
