  • NatWest raises full-year guidance after strong Q1 2026 despite earnings concerns

NatWest reported a RoTE of 18.2% for Q1 2026 and total income of £4.2bn; management lifted the full-year income guidance to the top end of the £17.2–17.6bn range. The cost-income ratio improved to 46.5% and operating profit before impairments rose 15.7%, while impairments increased due to adjusted macroeconomic assumptions. The CET1 ratio stands at 14.3% and the bank reaffirmed mid-term targets for growth, efficiency and capital generation; the shares fell in pre-market trading amid investor concerns over earnings development.
