SES misses Q2 revenue forecasts despite improved gross margin
SES reported Q2 revenue of $5.1 million (expectation $5.39 million), missing estimates, while adjusted EPS of -$0.04 matched expectations. Gross margin rose to 22.6% (Q1: 18.1%), supported by better pricing and lower cell costs. The company reaffirmed full-year guidance of $30–35 million and closed the quarter with about $163 million in liquid funds; the stock reacted negatively in after-hours trading. » More on de.investing.com
SES receives $5.6 billion from FCC to free up C-band frequencies
The FCC is requiring the reallocation of part of the upper C-band and is paying SES $5.6 billion as compensation for vacating those frequencies. SES must migrate customer links and provide replacement capacity, since 160 MHz of the C-band will be auctioned to mobile operators in April. The FCC rejected SpaceX’s demands for a portion of the spectrum. » More on heise.de
SES entitled to about $5.6 billion from FCC payment – shares rise sharply
SES and Eutelsat jointly expect incentive payments from US regulator FCC of about $6.1 billion for the release of 160 MHz of the upper C‑band spectrum; SES is entitled to roughly $5.6 billion. Payments are tied to obligations to reassign frequencies in 2030 and 2031, with transitional costs reimbursed separately. The news pushed SES shares up 6.7% to an intraday high of €7.76 (previous close €7.01); Eutelsat also posted gains, while the French market provided little support. » More on de.investing.com
