State Street raises growth outlook – AI, digital assets and margins in focus

At the Barclays conference, State Street said 2026 is shaping up better than expected and raised fee revenue growth to 13–14% and net interest income to the top end of the 14–15% range. The firm is targeting a mid‑term pre‑tax margin of 35% and a return on tangible common equity of 20%, and expects operational leverage of more than 500 basis points in 2026. Strategic growth areas are alternatives, digital assets and asset services; AI and a broad transformation program are intended to boost productivity and save about USD 1 billion annually by 2029.
