Swedbank posts quarterly profit of SEK 7.2 billion
Swedbank reported a profit of SEK 7.2 billion for the second quarter of 2026, a 2% decrease from the previous quarter. Total income rose to SEK 18.1 billion, net interest income was SEK 11.3 billion and net fee income SEK 4.5 billion. Total expenses increased 14% to SEK 7.9 billion, including SEK 860 million in special items. Swedbank Q2 profit falls 9% despite higher revenues
Swedbank reported a 9% drop in net profit for the second quarter to 7.20 billion SEK, but still beat the Visible Alpha consensus by 1%. Pre-tax profit also fell 9% to 9.15 billion SEK, while the operating result before loan loss provisions was slightly above expectations. Total revenues rose 7% to 18.10 billion SEK thanks to higher fees, trading income and a modest net interest income, but expenses increased 28% mainly due to 860 million SEK in restructuring costs; credit impairments more than doubled to 313 million SEK and return on equity fell to 14.2%. Swedbank reports stable Q1 2026 – revenue slightly above expectations, shares fall
Swedbank posted earnings per share of 6.5 in the first quarter of 2026, in line with analysts’ estimates, and revenue of SEK 17.07 billion, slightly above the forecast of SEK 16.91 billion. Net profit was SEK 7.3 billion, return on equity 13.3% and the cost-to-income ratio 40%. Net interest income rose 3% quarter-on-quarter and the mortgage business recorded strong growth, while the share fell 0.72% to SEK 325.45.
