Taylor Wimpey cuts payout ratio and warns of margin pressure
Taylor Wimpey reported H1 EBIT (including joint ventures) of £129.7m, slightly above its own forecast, but reduced its payout policy from 7.5% to 4% of tangible net assets (2% minimum dividend plus up to 2% in dividend or buybacks). The company expects net cash of £250m in 2026, adjusts UK completions to 10,600–10,800 units, and anticipates falling house prices (-1.5% to -2%), a slightly higher average selling price due to mix (+1%), and construction cost inflation of 3–4%. Taylor Wimpey announces repurchase of up to £41.9 million of its own shares
Taylor Wimpey has entered into an agreement with Merrill Lynch International to acquire ordinary shares of up to £41.9 million. Repurchases start immediately and will run at the latest until 31 December 2026; Merrill Lynch will act as a riskless principal and may purchase on the London Stock Exchange. Taylor Wimpey appoints Sarah Warby to the board
Taylor Wimpey has appointed Sarah Warby as an independent non-executive director with effect from 2 October 2026. Warby will join the nominations and governance committee and the remuneration committee, bringing leadership experience from Nando’s UK&I, J Sainsbury and Lovehoney.
