  • Vermilion Energy surpasses Q1 production guidance and acquires producing assets in Germany

Vermilion Energy reports Q1 2026 production of about 125,000 boe/d, slightly above its guidance range. Production comprised roughly 59% Canadian gas, 13% European gas and 28% liquids; strong performance in the Deep Basin and Montney and early start-ups contributed, while cyclones in Australia reduced output. In March Vermilion signed to buy German producing assets of about 1,000 boe/d (85% gas), with closing expected in H2 2026 (economic effective date January 1, 2025). A stronger price environment lifted revenues and resulted in EBITDA of USD 870m, and the company also announced the sale of a non-producing Croatian asset for ~EUR 15m, with proceeds to be used primarily to reduce debt. » More on de.investing.com

  • Vermilion Energy realigns gas portfolio and achieves efficiency gains

Vermilion Energy has outlined a strategy to become a focused global gas producer, increasing gas weighting to 65–70% and targeting production of about 119,500 boe/d for 2025. By exiting five non-core businesses and concentrating on the Deep Basin, Montney and Germany, production is expected to rise by ~40% by 2026 while unit costs fall by >30%. Around half or more of European production is hedged at floor prices. The 2026 budget emphasizes cost discipline, debt reduction and capital returns; the dividend is raised by 4%. Risks remain gas price volatility, exploration and regulatory uncertainties, and a forecasted decline in FFO per share. » More on de.investing.com
