Moody’s raises outlook for VF Corp. to stable after debt reduction
Moody’s has raised the outlook for VF Corp. from “negative” to “stable” and affirmed the corporate family rating at Ba2. The agency based the decision on operational improvements, cost reductions and debt repayments of about $583 million in fiscal 2026, including proceeds from the sale of the Dickies brand. VF Corp. reported a leverage ratio of 3.9x and interest coverage of 3.1x for the twelve months to June 2026; Moody’s expects improvements to roughly 3.1x and 4.2x, respectively, by the end of fiscal 2027 and the repayment of a bond maturing in April 2027. The ratings are supported by the group’s market position and the strength of the brands The North Face, Vans and Timberland, with weaker performance at Vans. » More on de.investing.com
Unexpectedly large quarterly loss weighs on VF Corporation stock premarket
VF Corporation reported an adjusted loss per share of $0.27 in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 (expectation $0.22), missing estimates. Revenue was $1.67 billion, topping forecasts but down about 5% year over year, hurt by seasonal weakness at The North Face and ongoing issues at Vans. Higher SG&A expenses for marketing and direct-to-consumer initiatives have not yet improved results, and management expects a weaker first half due to timing effects in wholesale. The stock plunged premarket to $16.89 from a close of $18.25 and is approaching the low end of its 52-week range. » More on de.investing.com
VF Corp CEO pledges deep, long-term brand turnaround
VF Corp CEO Bracken Darrell outlined a long-term turnaround strategy at the World Retail Congress, prioritizing brand equity restoration over quick fixes amid falling revenues and wholesale disruption. He emphasized cost discipline, organizational simplification and focused priorities rather than attempting to fix everything at once. Darrell defended the multi-brand model, saying VF will leverage shared best-in-class processes and real-world brand experiences (Vans tour, NBA, World Cup) to rebuild cultural relevance and sustainable growth. » More on forbes.com
