Waters introduces Xevo TQ Absolute XR IVD mass spectrometer for clinical diagnostics

Waters unveiled the Xevo TQ Absolute XR IVD at the 2026 annual meeting of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine, an LC‑MS/MS system for applications in women’s health, cancer diagnostics and toxicology. According to the company, the device offers up to fivefold greater sensitivity compared with similar systems (Xevo TQ-XS IVD and SCIEX 6500 IVD), enabling lower limits of detection and measurements from smaller sample volumes. The system uses the StepWave XR Ion Guide, which is said to deliver up to six times longer consistency of the ion ratio compared with the previous model, and is part of the MassTrak IVD portfolio including ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS.
