Activist Starteepo demands strategic review of Xerox's financial unit
Activist investor Starteepo has built a 7.34% stake in Xerox and is demanding an immediate review of the financial services unit, separate disclosure of its metrics, a reduction of balance-sheet debt and stricter capital discipline. Starteepo insists on presenting an operational strategy by the quarterly report and hiring advisers to consider options such as joint ventures, strategic partnerships or a full sale. The investor values the finance unit at up to USD 7.69 per share and sees a potential equity value for the company of around USD 3.3 billion (more than USD 18 per share), after which Xerox shares rose in pre-market trading. » More on de.investing.com
Xerox Q1 2026: revenue beats expectations thanks to Lexmark acquisition, stock jumps
Xerox reported Q1 2026 revenue of $1.85 billion, beating the consensus of $1.75 billion, driven by the Lexmark acquisition and 27% year‑over‑year sales growth. Earnings per share came in at -$0.43, well below the forecast of -$0.27, weighed down in part by higher interest expenses. Despite the earnings miss, the stock surged strongly in premarket trading (+27.41%) as investors focused on the revenue gain and integration potential. Management expects EPS to improve in subsequent quarters (Q2: -$0.04, Q3: $0.27) and is targeting cost cuts and synergies to lift margins. » More on de.investing.com
