Yancoal reports record production and strong EBITDA growth in first half 2026
Yancoal achieved an attributable saleable coal production of 19.8 million tonnes in H1 2026 (a record), revenue up 13% to AUD 3.01 billion and operating EBITDA of AUD 767 million (+29%) with a margin of 24%. Operating cash costs remained at AUD 96/t despite higher diesel prices. The company closed June with AUD 2.1 billion in cash and no external debt. Non-operating charges (including the reversal of hedges and impairments) reduced reported profit sharply to AUD 17 million after tax. Yancoal cut its full-year capex guidance by AUD 150 million, expects production at the upper end of its annual guidance, and plans to acquire an 80% stake in the Kestrel mine, which is likely to use part of the cash reserves and lead to new borrowing. » More on de.investing.com
