PayPay to acquire 70.2% of T&D Financial Life Insurance
PayPay will acquire a 70.2% majority stake in T&D Financial Life Insurance and will finance the acquisition from cash on hand. One Investment Management will buy 14.9% of the shares, and T&D Holdings will retain a further 14.9% after closing. Closing is scheduled for October 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and conversion to IFRS; call and put options will be available three years after closing. PayPay trades above issue price in NASDAQ IPO and reaches $10.7 billion valuation
SoftBank subsidiary PayPay went public on the NASDAQ, opening $19 above the $16 issue price; the stock was last quoted at $17.47. The company was valued at about $10.7 billion, the largest Japanese US IPO since 2016. ZOZO reports strong GMV growth and rising EBITDA in Q2 2025
ZOZO posted a record GMV of ¥312.4 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2025 (+11.9% y/y) and an EBITDA of ¥34.7 billion (+5.8% y/y), while the EBITDA margin slightly declined to 11.9% (-0.7 percentage points). The company cited the new K-Fashion zone, the partnership with Musinsa and increased investments in AI-powered offerings and customer reactivation as drivers.
