  • European Metals: Czech Republic publishes environmental impact assessment for Cinovec lithium project

The Czech Ministry of the Environment has published the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the Cinovec lithium project; a public hearing is planned in the coming weeks. Because the deposit spans the border between the Czech Republic and Germany, a special EIA procedure is being carried out to assess hydrological impacts and mining planning. Cinovec has proven ore reserves of 54.4 million tonnes (0.58% Li2O) and a project design for 37,500 t of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year over 28 years; Geo met is 49% owned by European Metals and 51% by CEZ via SDAS, and the EU classifies the project as strategic. » Plus sur de.investing.com

  • European Metals reports larger half-year loss and advances Cinovec project

European Metals recorded a net loss of $2.75 million in the first half of 2025, compared with $1.25 million in the prior period, driven by higher fees and the proportional loss from its 49% stake in GeoMet. Cash and cash equivalents fell to $996,340 as of June 30; in August the company raised $3 million via a share placement to help co-finance a GeoMet capital call of €11 million. The Cinovec project hit key milestones, including designation as a strategic project under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act, recognition as a strategic deposit in the Czech Republic, a provisional mining permit for Cinovec South through 2033, and an EU funding commitment of $36 million. The definitive feasibility study is scheduled for October 2025 and the environmental impact assessment for year-end, while the company expects further capital measures to continue development. » Plus sur de.investing.com
