ICICI Bank posts double-digit profit growth as loans and deposits expand

ICICI Bank reported Q1 fiscal 2027 profit after tax up 15.9% year on year and profit before tax excluding treasury up 20.9%, driven by broad-based loan growth, stable margins and 14% deposit growth. Overall loans rose 19.6% year on year with strong gains in rural, business banking and corporate segments, while net interest income increased 12.7% and net interest margin held around 4.36%. Asset quality remained steady with net NPA at 0.35% and provisions lower than a year earlier; fee income surged 23.5% and operating expenses rose 10.4%.
