  • Acquisition by Zijin fails; Zijin to invest $295m in Allied Gold

The proposed takeover of Allied Gold by Zijin Gold International was terminated after closing conditions could not be met by July 29, 2026, and the parties declined to extend the deadline. Instead, Zijin has committed to a strategic private placement of roughly $295 million (about C$417 million) by subscribing for approximately 12.8 million common shares at C$32.55 per share, which will represent about 9.2% of issued shares on closing. The transaction is subject to TSX and NYSE approvals and is expected to close around August 10, 2026; the subscribed shares will be subject to a four-month holding period, and comparable lock-ups will apply to Allied Gold management. Net proceeds are intended to fund operational optimizations, the completion and ramp-up of Kurmuk, the expansion of Sadiola, production increases at the CDI complex, and exploration activities. » Plus sur de.investing.com

  • Zijin Mining remains Citi's top pick after leadership change and share price rise

Zijin Mining climbed more than four percent in domestic trading and is back above the 50-day line. Citi views the announced withdrawal of Chairman Chen Jinghe as not relevant to the business and keeps Zijin as a top pick, saying competitiveness and the growth trajectory are structurally entrenched. Analysts still regard the copper and lithium projects as undervalued and see potential up to this year’s high of HK$36.92 if momentum persists. » Plus sur deraktionaer.de
