Adecoagro reached an agreement with the Raízen group to buy the Caarapó mill in Mato Grosso do Sul for about 760 million R$ (around 148 million USD). The transaction includes sugarcane plantations and existing supply contracts; in the 2025/26 season the mill processed about 3.5 million tonnes of sugarcane and can produce sugar, hydrous/anhydrous ethanol and renewable energy. The deal will be paid in cash, is subject to customary contractual conditions and requires approval from the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE); closing is expected before October 1, 2026. Adecoagro plans to integrate the facility into its sugar, ethanol and energy business; given its market capitalization and liquidity metrics, financing the purchase price is considered feasible. » More on de.investing.com
