  • Anglo American receives The Copper Mark for copper operations in Peru and Chile

Anglo American has been awarded The Copper Mark for the Quellaveco copper mine in Peru and for the Los Bronces and El Soldado sites and the Chagres smelter in Chile. Quellaveco was certified for the first time, while the Chilean operations received confirmation of the certification that has existed since 2022; Quellaveco and Los Bronces additionally received The Molybdenum Mark. All four sites also received, for the first time, the Copper Mark Chain of Custody after an independent review of 33 performance areas that began in October 2025. » More on de.investing.com

  • Anglo American lifts shares after sharp cut to copper cost guidance

Anglo American's stock rose about 4.5% after an operational update for H1 2026 in which the copper unit-cost guidance for 2026 was reduced from around 172 cents to about 145 cents per pound. Copper production remained stable in the first half at 343,600 tonnes and the annual target range of 700,000–760,000 tonnes was confirmed. Despite negative EBITDA expectations for diamonds and coal, the market reacted positively because those divisions are up for sale and are not part of the core portfolio. The prospect of margin improvement in the copper segment and the pending merger with Teck supported the stock's revaluation. » More on de.investing.com

  • Anglo American falls after geopolitical shock and commodity price decline

Anglo American shares plunged about 6.2% to 3,810 pence after a sell-off in London-listed mining stocks was triggered by renewed US–Iran tensions. A retreating copper price and heavy losses in gold and silver intensified the wave of selling, while a weaker GBP/USD weighed on UK commodity positions. Changes in analysts' interest-rate expectations and the upcoming merger with Teck Resources (high copper exposure) leave the stock vulnerable to further commodity- and news-driven volatility. » More on de.investing.com
