Anglo Asian Mining upgrades Gedabek and Demirli plants for higher copper recovery
Anglo Asian Mining has announced upgrades to the processing plants at Gedabek and Demirli, including the commissioning—expected by end-April—of nine Imhoflot flotation cells (cost about USD 1.8m) for higher-grade ore. In Demirli, the SAG and ball mills are back in operation after replacement parts, and bio-heap leaching tests achieved copper recovery rates of up to 78%. Other measures include an energy-efficient pulp-lifter system, an industrial crusher, a new maintenance program and the planned installation of a fibre-optic monitoring system for the tailings dam. Anglo Asian Mining reaches production milestone of one million gold-equivalent ounces
Since production began in 2009 in Azerbaijan, Anglo Asian Mining has produced over one million gold-equivalent ounces, including about 851,000 ounces of gold, 1.9 million ounces of silver and more than 30,000 tonnes of copper. The milestone was reached at the end of January and covers production from the Gedabek and Demirli open pits as well as the Gilar underground mine.
