Ascletis launches global phase‑III trials for oral obesity drug ASC30
Ascletis has launched a global phase‑III program for the oral GLP‑1 agent ASC30, comprising the approval‑relevant studies AURORA‑1 (without type‑2 diabetes) and AURORA‑2 (with type‑2 diabetes) with about 4,600 participants in the US, Europe and Canada. Both randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled studies test three maintenance doses (20/40/60 mg daily) over 72 weeks; topline data are expected in Q3 2028. Ascletis plans an FDA filing by the end of 2028 and an EMA filing in early 2029, and also reported preclinical data for an oral triple agonist showing up to 15.2% weight reduction in primates. The company says it has sufficient liquidity through 2029 and is pursuing a portfolio of five oral candidates with further IND plans for 2026. » More on de.investing.com
Ascletis presents positive preclinical data for once-monthly obesity injection
Ascletis will present preclinical data for ASC36_35 FDC at the EASD annual meeting, a once-monthly subcutaneously administered combination of amylin receptor and GLP-1R/GIPR agonists. In a diet-induced obesity animal model, the fixed-dose combination showed superior weight loss compared with the Eloralintid/Tirzepatid combination. The candidate uses Ascletis' "Self-Assembling Lipid Depot" formulation on the Ultra-Long-Acting Platform and could, according to the CEO, enable greater weight losses in humans. » More on de.investing.com
