Astarta: profit and margin pressure in second quarter 2026 weighs on outlook
Astarta reported weaker profitability in Q2 2026 despite higher agricultural revenues and sales volumes. Gross margin fell to 20% and EBITDA margin to 15%, hit by higher cost of sales, a cattle revaluation of €5.5m and currency losses of €4m, which pushed the result into negative territory. The company kept operating cash flow stable through accelerated sales, cut investments except for the soy-processing complex, and sees ongoing risks from logistics bottlenecks and gaps between international and domestic prices.
