Weak outlook for coal business weighs on Aurizon shares

Aurizon shares fell 10.6% after the company signaled a decline in EBITDA for the coal segment in FY2027, overshadowing strong results for FY2026. For FY2026 Aurizon reported adjusted net profit up 24% to 433m AUD, EPS up 29% to 25.2 cents, group EBITDA of 1,724m AUD (+9%) and revenue of 4,194m AUD (+6%). Group EBITDA guidance for FY2027 is 1,725–1,775m AUD, and non-growth capex is forecast at 590–660m AUD.
