Avantium: Kepler downgrades, warns of high cash burn and dilution risk
Kepler Cheuvreux has downgraded Avantium from "hold" to "reduce" and cut the price target from €6.40 to €5.00. Analysts warn of rapid cash consumption and expect a capital increase of at least €55m, with potential additional dilution of up to around €380m in total. The stock subsequently fell close to its 52‑week low, reflecting concerns about commercialization of the FDCA technology and ongoing financing needs. » More on de.investing.com
Avantium plans dilutive financing of up to €100m — shares fall 15%
Avantium announced financing of up to €100m, consisting of a guaranteed rights issue of €65m, a possible private placement of €15m and an expected government grant/loan of €20m. The measure could potentially increase the share count from 8 million to 21 million, causing significant dilution for shareholders; the share price fell by around 15% as a result. According to the company, the financing secures liquidity for two to four years, brings amended credit facilities and is intended to enable commercialization of the FDCA technology via licensing. However, Avantium reported further delays in commissioning the 5‑kiloton FDCA plant, now scheduled for H1 2026, and postponed targets for reaching EBITDA breakeven; Kepler raised its recommendation to "hold." » More on de.investing.com
