HSBC downgrades Procter & Gamble to 'hold' and cuts price target to $149
HSBC downgraded Procter & Gamble from 'buy' to 'hold' and cut the price target from $182 to $149, saying reinvestments in marketing and innovation have so far produced neither volume growth nor margin improvements. P&G reported fourth-quarter sales of $21.2 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.43, slightly above consensus, while adjusted operating income missed estimates due to higher selling and marketing costs. HSBC views organic sales as weak and has reduced earnings estimates for 2027–2029 as well as valuation multiples; P&G expects fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 1–3% and plans about $10 billion in dividends and $5 billion in share buybacks. » More on de.investing.com
