  • Aviva detects record £233m of suspect claims as fraudsters use AI

    Aviva identified more than 18,400 suspect claims across its brands in 2025 with a combined value of £233m, a record level that includes Direct Line brands for the first time. Insurers reported growing use of AI-generated images and manipulated documents to fake accident scenes and exaggerate damage, with motor fraud accounting for over 70% of cases in the UK business and motor fraud value rising 39%. Home insurance fraud also increased as customers exaggerated damage and contents values.   • Aviva completes buyback offers for bonds totalling £425.5m

    Aviva has finalised buyback offers for three bond series with an accepted total nominal amount of £425.5m. £86.2m of the subordinated 6.125% notes were accepted (purchase price 100.490%, yield 4.942%), £338.3m of Direct Line RT1 notes were accepted (purchase price 99.850%, without pro-rata) and €71.2m of the senior 1.875% notes were accepted (purchase price 98.748%, pro‑rata reduction 81.9%). Aviva set the final acceptance amount at £400m; settlement is scheduled for 1 June 2026 and all acquired securities will be redeemed. After completion certain RT1, senior and Tier‑2 bonds will remain in residual holdings; remaining Tier‑2 bonds will be redeemed at the special call price on 19 June 2026. » More on de.investing.com


  • Aviva launches share buyback programme worth £350 million

    Aviva has announced a share buyback programme of up to £350 million, starting on Friday and expected to run until 6 August 2026. Purchases will be executed on the London Stock Exchange and CBOE Europe via market trades by Citigroup Global Markets as an independent broker. Repurchased shares will be sold back to Aviva and subsequently cancelled, based on a shareholder authority dated 30 April 2025 for up to 267 million shares.
