EU approves sale of 51 percent stake in Everllence to Bain Capital – VW receives €7.4 billion
The European Commission has approved Bain Capital’s takeover of a 51 percent stake in large-engine manufacturer Everllence without antitrust conditions. VW is selling the stake and will receive €7.4 billion, but retains 49 percent, continuing to focus on its core business. Bain plans to enter the market for large engines, turbomachinery and decarbonization solutions; the five German sites will remain open until at least 2030 and redundancies for operational reasons are ruled out. » More on zeit.de
Eaton Fiber receives $1.5 billion from Bain Capital to expand Verizon fiber
Bain Capital and Tillman Global are investing $1.5 billion in Eaton Fiber to finance the acquisition of Ripple Fiber and accelerate the build-out of fiber broadband networks for Verizon in the US. Eaton Fiber plans to reach more than one million locations outside Verizon’s existing network through network construction and acquisitions; Verizon will remain the exclusive provider for retail distribution, marketing and service. Verizon will take on existing customers of Ripple Fiber and acquire parts of the network in North and South Carolina. Bain Capital sells entire stake in Kioxia
Bain Capital has fully divested its entire stake in Japanese flash‑memory maker Kioxia, Managing Partner David Gross confirmed. Bain led the $18 billion takeover of what was then Toshiba Memory in 2018 and had gradually reduced its holdings since the IPO at the end of 2024. AI‑driven demand for memory chips pushed Kioxia’s market capitalization to about ¥56 trillion in mid‑June, allowing Bain to realize a substantial gain on its investment.
