  • Doman Building Materials: profit beats expectations, revenue and outlook disappoint

Doman Building Materials reported adjusted EPS of $0.36 in the second quarter, beating estimates, while revenue of CAD 904.5 million was slightly below expectations. Gross margin remained steady at 16.1% and net profit increased, but adjusted EBITDA fell slightly. The stock dropped after the results as management gave a cautious outlook and said it does not plan to provide formal guidance. Future growth is expected to be supported by new sawmills, expansion in the fencing segment and tariff advantages; risks include weak demand, lumber price volatility and higher operating costs. » More on de.investing.com

  • Moody's confirms B1 rating for Doman and raises outlook to stable

Moody's affirms Doman's B1 Corporate Family Rating and upgrades the outlook from negative to stable. The agency assigned a B2 rating to the planned increase of senior unsecured notes and raised the liquidity rating from SGL-4 to SGL-3. Doman intends to use the proceeds of the increase plus about CAD 100 million from the ABL facility to repay CAD 272 million of notes maturing in May 2026, which improves refinancing risk and the maturity profile. Moody's expects leverage to decline but remain around 4x, yet sees seasonally noticeably tight liquidity in H1 2026 in the short term; pro forma there are about CAD 350 million of liquidity sources against cash outflows. » More on de.investing.com
