  • Eventbrite to be acquired by Bending Spoons for $500 million

    Bending Spoons has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Eventbrite and will pay $4.50 per share in cash, valuing the company at about $500 million. The price represents an 82% premium to the volume-weighted 60-day average price and prompted a 78.6% premarket jump. The board of directors unanimously approved the transaction; closing is expected in the first half of 2026 and remains subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. After closing, Eventbrite will become a private company; Bending Spoons plans product innovations such as messaging features, AI-assisted event creation, improved search and a secondary ticket market.     Eventbrite reported a net profit of $6.4 million in the third quarter of 2025, even though revenue fell 8% to $71.7 million.
