LEVC announces new all-electric Black Cab despite Geely's heavy losses
The maker of the legendary Black Cabs, LEVC, is promising a new generation of all-electric models with greater range for next year. The company has been in crisis for years: sales fell by over 40% in 2025 to 725 vehicles and LEVC lost ÂŁ62 million that year, with cumulative losses over the past four years approaching half a billion pounds. Reasons include competition from Uber and Bolt, a decline in drivers, inflation and reduced eâsubsidies; Geely has kept LEVC afloat several times with cash injections. » More on faz.net
Geely misses revenue forecast for H1 2026, margins and exports support results
Geely reported revenue of $97.25 billion for H1 2026, missing the $103.47 billion forecast by 6.01%. At the same time, gross margin improved to 17.9% and profit margin to around 5.6%, driven by stronger premium sales and rapid export growth (Q2 export volume about 270,000 units). Zeekr raised Q2 deliveries to 100,000 units, and the stock rose 4.77% after the results. Management expects at least the Q2 gross margin level for Q3 and plans multiple product launches and higher export volumes to further strengthen margins. » More on de.investing.com
Geely founder Li Shufu steps back from operational business and becomes honorary chairman
With immediate effect, Li Shufu resigns from his operational role at Geely and is given the title âhonorary chairman for lifeâ to make room for professional management and succession planning. An Conghui assumes the chairmanship of the board; Geely thus shifts from a founder-led to a manager-led corporate culture. The group remains controlled by Li, plans no share sales and reports solid half-year figures: 1.4 million vehicles sold, revenue up 15 percent and strong export growth in electric cars; the stock rose by nearly five percent. » More on faz.net
