Geely plans production in Ford plants in Europe

Auto industry profits halve — western manufacturers in deep crisis
The operating profit of the 19 largest automakers fell by 49.2 percent to €42.8 billion in the first half of 2024, while total revenue stagnated. Chinese manufacturers such as Geely, Great Wall Motor and BYD recorded a slight rise in profits and revenue growth of around 20 percent, whereas western groups reported sometimes massive declines and losses (at Renault, Nissan, Stellantis, Mazda). Unitree aims for IPO with $7 billion valuation
The Chinese robotics start‑up Unitree is preparing an IPO and values the company at $7 billion. Filings could take place in the fourth quarter of 2025; exact proceeds targets are still undecided.
