Geely relies on Cell-to-Chassis and gigacasting at Volvo to cut costs
Geely uses Cell-to-Chassis battery integration and large-scale gigacasting at its subsidiary Volvo to reduce production steps and significantly lower costs. Cell-to-Chassis can save $1,200–$1,800 per vehicle and improve range and weight, while gigacasting reduces welding effort and is estimated to cut body-in-white costs by 30–50 percent.
